Dear Pastor and Praying Friends,
June and July were very exciting months with lots of activities and several visiting groups. There was a church group from Buffalo Ridge Baptist in Gray, TN that came down the last of May through the first of June to see one of their supported missions families; the Holts; and while they were here we took advantage of their youth group and used them to pass out materials in Padre Hurtado. They passed out approximately 2,000 John and Romans on their last day before returning to the States and were a huge blessing to us and worked very hard.
Also, as we reported last month we had a large group of medical and dental professionals with MMO visit with us, and from this evangelistic outreach over 2,000 people received medical and vision care and 427 made professions of faith.
Iglesia Bautista Libertad is now working hard at following up with each of these people.
This was a great joint effort by the MMO team, several missionaries, and the local churches here in Santiago to God be the glory!
Our Pastor, Philip Moore, his wife Angela, and daughter Abigail, also came down to visit us in July. Pastor Moore was one of our preachers for our annual youth congress. During his nine days with us he preached and taught fourteen times, and and three professions of faith were made.
We greatly enjoyed our time with he and his family and they were a blessing to everyone. Our pastor and church have greatly invested financially and prayerfully in the work here in Chile and we are grateful to them for their investment and were excited they had the opportunity to come see it first hand.
Also, Morgan shared her testimony for the first time at one of our ladies meetings in July. I was not there to hear, but was told she did a great job.
We also started another construction project. This is an addition at Iglesia Bautista Omega and will serve for housing for an intern for the next six months and then will be used as additional classroom space afterwards.
In Christ,
The Smitheys
