Our Testimonies and Call
I trusted Christ as my Savior as a nineteen year old young man. As I read my Bible and attended church faithfully, God began to deal with me about preaching the gospel. I spoke with my Pastor about this and soon after I surrendered to the Lord. I then went off to Crown College to train for the ministry. While at Crown, the Lord stirred my heart up about being a church planter, however he never gave me clear direction in this matter. I continued my studies and took advantage of the opportunities the Lord presented to me. One of those opportunities was to work for Dr. Dan Reed at Harvest Baptist Church. It was during a missions conference at Harvest that the Lord gave me clear direction about being a church planter. Every step of the way the Lord has been preparing my wife and I for the work he has called us to in Chile. His way and his timing are perfect.
I am thankful to the Lord that He gave me a godly mom and dad who had me in church faithfully. It was very important to them that our family be actively involved in our local church. I made a profession of faith when I was 12 years old, but later in life, I doubted my salvation. After much prayer and godly counsel, I settled the matter. On September 13, 2003, I trusted Christ as my Savior. When my husband was called to the ministry, I surrendered myself completely to the Lord’s perfect will for my life. The Lord has allowed us to serve in many different ministries which I believe has prepared us for this next step. Tbe call to missions is one of the highest honors that I believe a Christian can have. I am excited to see what the Lord has in store for us as we prepare for the work in Chile. In my life verse, John 16:33, Jesus says, “ In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” We know we will face many obstacles along the way, but we also know that the Lord is with us.
